Foundation for Free Enterprise Education

Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is an internationally-acclaimed summer high school education program established in 1979 that teaches young adults to understand and celebrate our private enterprise system. Funded and taught entirely by practitioners from Pennsylvania’s business community, PFEW immerses rising high school juniors and seniors in the world of business and provides participants with a greater understanding and appreciation of free enterprise economics. The program opens participants’ eyes to career opportunities in Pennsylvania, and world class speakers address topics including leadership, communication, self-esteem, and other life skills necessary to succeed in the future. The Foundation for Free Enterprise Education is a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1980 as the parent organization of PFEW, enabling it to receive tax-deductible contributions. Each summer, over 2,100 high school students take the seven-day PFEW “journey” and the program has grown to now offer five individual week-long sessions at our two host campuses, Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology
